The first steps to recovery might be the hardest. We here at Bedfordview Lighthouse will try make that process as smooth and easy as can be.
To admit a loved one/friend , you simply follow the next few steps.
STEP 1
First call the halfhouse centre on 082 827 9281 or 082 379 9224.
We will explain admissions as well as all information needed for you to submit an individual. Should you require an immediate admission or setting up an assessment , both will be explained. An appointment will then be scheduled to meet you for an addiction pre-
This assessment is to ensure that you are not suffering from drug or alcohol induced psychosis, as we do not admit psychosis patients. Full disclosure is required at all times, including your history of drug and alcohol abuse. There after we will take a careful and diligent assessments as to patients current status as well as taking into consideration the history , with regards to physical , emotional and psychiatric needs.Should the individual require and be willing to be admitted directly the practical aspects of this process can be facilitated with our support.
STEP 2
You will then need to disclose where you have completed your primary treatment care for at least 30 days, to ensure you have done the first 12 steps to recovery.
STEP 3
Once the above 2 steps has been done , as well as the assessment , you may be admitted instantly ,on the same day or whichever date you prefer. Please note this is subject to availability
Admissions into the halfway house programme are done between Monday and Thursday every week. No admissions into the treatment programmes will be done on a Friday or over a weekend.
Step 4
You will be informed of everything that the patient needs to bring along, and what is not allowed.
On admission you will be handed all the admission criteria that will need to be filled out and signed
Admission documents will be done on the day of admission, please have a copy of your ID document as well as medical aid card available. Please note we cannot keep any person there against their will and they would need to agree to this process
STEP 5:
We won’t just take care of our patients but their families is of high importance to us as well, therefore we offer counselling sessions with all family members willing to come, everyone is welcome to join in on this journey.
